Insurance roof inspection

Insurance roof inspection with the proof your claim needs

Insurance roof inspection is a different job from an ordinary one: it has to convince someone who was never on your roof. We photograph damage slope by slope, run hail test squares, record the soft-metal evidence adjusters look for, and tie it all to a specific storm — then hand you a plain-English report. It’s free, there’s no obligation, and if you don’t have a claim worth filing we’ll tell you that.

Storm damage documented on a Baytown roof during a Now Roofing insurance inspection
Damage documented from above and up close — the evidence an adjuster actually works from.
Why it's different

A claim inspection is an evidence exercise

Your adjuster wasn't on your roof during the storm. Everything they decide comes from what can be shown to them afterwards.

Dated, located photographs

Not a handful of snaps. Damage photographed per slope and per elevation, so the extent is obvious rather than arguable.

Test squares for hail

Where hail is involved, we mark and count impacts in a measured area — the standard adjusters actually work from.

Tied to a weather event

Damage linked to a specific storm date, which is what separates a covered event from ordinary wear in a carrier’s eyes.

What we check

What goes into the report

Insurance roof inspection findings have to survive someone else's scrutiny, so we cover the things claims actually turn on.

Shingle field damage

Bruising, granule loss and fractured mats — including hail damage that is invisible from the ground but obvious up close.

Wind damage and creasing

Lifted, creased or missing shingles, and broken seal strips that leave the roof vulnerable to the next storm.

Soft metals and accessories

Dents in vents, flashing, gutters and downspouts. Soft metals often prove a hail event even where the shingles look intact.

Collateral evidence

Damage to fencing, screens, AC fins and other surfaces that corroborates the storm and its direction.

Interior signs

Ceiling stains, attic moisture and daylight through the deck where we can safely check.

Written summary

A plain-English report of what we found, where, and whether we think it is claimable.

What happens next

Inspection first, decision second

You are under no obligation at any point in this, and there is no charge for any of it.

1

We inspect and document

Free, thorough, and photographed. Usually under an hour on a typical home.

2

We tell you honestly

Whether there's a claim worth filing. Sometimes the answer is no, and we'd rather say so.

3

You decide whether to file

It stays your call. If you file, you do it with real documentation instead of a hunch.

4

We meet the adjuster

We walk them through what we found so nothing legitimate is overlooked.

Common Questions

Insurance Roof Inspection Questions, Answered

What homeowners ask before filing a roof claim

Straight answers about claim inspections, documentation, and what happens next.

How is this different from a normal roof inspection?

A regular inspection tells you the condition of your roof. A claim inspection has to prove something to a third party — so it's built around evidence: dated photographs, damage located and counted per slope, a test square where hail is involved, and notes tying the damage to a specific weather event. Same roof, a much more thorough paper trail.

Is the inspection free?

Yes. There's no charge for the inspection or the documentation, and no obligation to use us for the work. If we don't find damage worth claiming, we'll tell you that and you owe us nothing.

Should I get inspected before I file?

Usually, yes. Filing a claim on a roof that turns out to have no claimable damage puts a claim on your record for nothing. An inspection first tells you whether there's a case — and if there is, you file it with proper documentation rather than a guess.

How long do I have to file after a storm?

Policies vary and Texas has its own deadlines, so check your policy and don't sit on it. Damage also gets harder to attribute to a specific storm the longer you leave it, and a small opening becomes an interior repair. If a storm has been through, get it looked at.

What do I actually receive?

A photo record of what we found and where, a written summary in plain English, and our read on whether it's claimable. If you file, that's what you file with — and we'll be there when the adjuster comes out.
